American sandwich chain rolls out to Newcastle

Sub sandwich chain Quiznos has crossed the pond from Denver Colarado, opening a new outlet in Newcastle, at Cobalt business park.

Providing toasted subs, flatbread pizzas , salads and wraps, Quiznos prides itself as a seller of premium meats and cheeses.

Ricky Sehgal, Quiznos Owner Manager, said “My inspiration for bringing Quiznos from Denver Colorado to Cobalt was to provide something different with an affordable and delicious menu for the hungry hordes at Cobalt.

“It’s a great global brand to bring to the park, currently in 43 countries, Quiznos have been sandwich-toasting fanatics since 1989 when it opened its first store. Everything gets toasted and every order is made to order whilst you wait.”

The restaurant was officially opened on Friday 18th December by North Tyneside’s Elected Mayor, Norma Redfearn.

Welcoming the café, Norma Redfearn said: “I am delighted to see another unit opening for business on Cobalt Park. It is great to know that a US brand has chosen this location. I would like to wish Quiznos every success with their new venture and congratulate Cobalt Park on filling another business unit at Cobalt Central.”

The diverse tenant line-up at Cobalt Central includes a 4,000 sq ft Tesco express store which anchors the central parade of shops, Greggs, Chisholm’s bookmakers, Spud & Lettuce, Quantum Elite Legal Professional Services & Cobalt Business Exchange Central serviced offices on the first floor.

Ricky added: “Cobalt Park is the perfect location for us and the support we have received from Highbridge and the Cobalt management team has been fantastic from initial discussions and setting up to site wide communications to the workforce.

“We will be working closely together in the future to ensure that we’re providing a service that is tailored to the needs of the workforce, the feedback through the site team will be invaluable for us to perfect our offering.”
