Key acquisitions drive growth for Preston firm Inspired Energy
To round off the end of a financial year characterised by an aggressive acquisition strategy, energy procurement consultant Inspired Energy has forecast its revenues to rest comfortably ahead of market expectations.
For the 12 months ending December 31, the Preston-based firm expects its group revenues to hit £15.1m, an increase of around 40% against last year’s figures. Adjusted EBITDA, meanwhile, is likely to show year-on-year growth of 25%, the company has said.
Inspired Energy made a number of strategic acquisitions during 2015 to enhance its service offering and broaden its client base, snapping up energy procurement consultants Wholesale Power UK for £2m and STC in a deal worth £9m.
Excluding the acquisitions, the firm’s corporate division achieved order book sales of £12.2m last year, representing a year-on-year rise of 22%.
Inspired Energy CEO Janet Thornton said: “I am delighted with the group’s achievements over the past year, delivering strong growth on all fronts as we continue to deliver value-add services to our customers.
“Our strong organic growth has been enhanced by the successful execution of the acquisitions of WPUK and STC.”
She continued: “Both acquisitions have proved complimentary to the business, increasing the breadth of our target customer base, while enhancing our sector specialism to now include leisure, logistics and the public sector.
“Integration of both companies is progressing well, and we continue to advance our position as a market leader.”
Speaking further, Janet said she believes Inspired Energy now has the structures and team in place to unlock growth in the year ahead.
