Haydock firm Handepay to create 53 jobs
Merseyside-based card payments provider Handepay has revealed plans to create 53 jobs in 2016 after launching a new pricing strategy.
The merchant services firm has already hired 20 new employees this year in IT, sales, marketing and admin roles, bringing its staff count to 100.
Over Q2 2016, Handepay plans to recruit for business development managers, HR professionals, IT specialists and admin staff.
The company is due to celebrate its 10th anniversary in May and currently provides card payment processing to 28k companies across the country.
The Haydock-headquartered firm reported a sharp increase in demand for its services after implementing a new pricing strategy in 2015 to help businesses increase savings.
The managing director of Handepay, Andy Peake, said: “Independent businesses are catching up with the public’s demand to be able to pay on card for their purchases and Handepay must ensure it has the capacity to help every one of them.
“With the addition of these new recruits, Handepay is in the ideal position to give more independent businesses the convenience they seek from taking card payments, meaning they never have to turn a customer away again.”
According to the UK Cards Association, around 1bn contactless card payments are now made every year.
Speaking further, Andy said: “The growth in card payments - and in particular contactless payment - over the past year or two has been incredible.
“The UK is at the forefront of this explosion in new ways to pay and it’s an exciting time to be in this industry.”
