Barton Willmore expands to The Pearl, Newcastle city centre

National planning and design consultancy Barton Willmore has expanded its presence in the region, relocating to offices in Newcastle city centre.

The company has taken space at the newly refurbished Pearl Assurance House, more commonly known as ‘The Pearl’, the eight storey landmark building that stands at the junction of Northumberland Street and New Bridge Street.

The Newcastle team includes senior planner Shaun Cuggy; associate planner Martyn Earle, who is chair of the Royal Town Planning Institute North East; senior planner Chris Martin; senior planner Phil Storey; urban design associate Michael Ward; director Stuart Natkus and partner James Hall.

Together the team has experience spanning mixed residential, leisure, commercial, health, education, construction, infrastructure and industrial projects.

James Hall, Barton Willmore partner, revealed: “Barton Willmore’s North East team has worked on a number of high profile developments in the region – acting for clients such as Persimmon, Bellway and The Greenwich Hospital Trust, among others.

“Confidence in the construction industry has gathered momentum in the North East over the last 12 months – particularly in the leisure and residential markets.

“Our Newcastle-based team is experienced across a range of sectors and has already helped to deliver a range of projects in the region.”

James said Barton Willmore’s key focus is to guide the development and regeneration of the North East.
