New buyer extends Martin-Brooks family
Sheffield roofing specialist, Martin-Brooks, is welcoming its first dedicated buyer and fourth second generation family member to the firm.
Ben Elmore, son of managing director, John, is working with Martin-Brooks’ back office team to manage purchases and streamline the buying process.
Having graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in marketing management, Ben has served a year on site with Martin-Brooks’ roofers before taking up his permanent position as buyer. His duties include ensuring all stock materials, such as lead, timber and insulation, are readily available for current and future jobs, as well as necessary health and safety items.
Nick Brooks, Martin-Brooks’ director and fellow second generation family member, said: “To keep pace with current market growth, it became apparent we needed to unify our buying process and better manage our allocation of resources. I am really pleased Ben has shown such an interest in the position and a desire to join the firm. We are very proud of our strong family links and it is a pleasure to see him settling in so well.”
Martin-Brooks directors, Jeremy Martin, Gerald Brooks and John Elmore now have four sons working within the firm’s experienced management team. This new generation is driving the business forward, whilst retaining its core commitment to customer service and craftsmanship.
Ben Elmore added: “I am really excited to be taking on this new position of buyer. Having spent time labouring on site, I’ve seen first-hand how important it is to the speed and efficiency of jobs that essential materials are readily available. As my knowledge and experience grows, I will be taking on more responsibility, ensuring all purchasing is done through one cohesive process.”
