Plans revealed for £250m three-tower project in Liverpool
A new multi-million pound plan to build three apartment blocks along the northern gateway to Liverpool’s thriving business district has been unveiled.
The 34-storey towers will create 1,015 new homes on Leeds Street, at its junction with Pall Mall, in what is considered to be the city’s single largest private housing project.
If approved, the proposals will create 163 three-bed apartments, 457 two-bed homes, 163 one-bed units and 232 studio apartments.
The Falconer Chester Hall-designed project is being delivered by local developer Elliot Group, which recently revealed plans to build two new towers in Salford, Greater Manchester.
Elliot Group confirmed that preliminary discussions have already been held with Liverpool City Council regeneration chiefs, who it said welcomed the proposals.
Elliot Group boss Elliot Lawless said: “We wanted to create a statement of confidence for people entering the city.
“If our proposals are approved then they will go a long way to helping Leeds Street fulfil its potential as a dramatic gateway along the northern edge of the city centre.”
The plans are now subject to review with the council’s planning and design officers. A planning application is due for submission in early September.
Elliot Group purchased the land off market from the Smith family – local investors best known for running the Liverpool’s Road Range Mercedes dealership before its sale.
Law firm Hill Dickinson acted for Elliot Group, while Land Law represented the Smith family.
