New pub completes £1.4m Forget Me Not Country Park regeneration
Anne-Marie Trevelyan, MP for Berwick-Upon-Tweed, has officially opened a new Longhorsley-based pub, at the recently regenerated Forget Me Not Country Park.
The park, near Morpeth, recently received £1.4m of investment to improve its allure as a popular tourist destination.
The Prince William Bar and Grill, the Park’s newest attraction, stands on the former site of the Croft Family Bar and was named after the proprietor’s premature son William Maguire, who was born 17 weeks premature. 14 new jobs have been created at the venue.
Owner Billy Maguire said: “We’re really pleased with the new bar and we’re sure our customers will be too! We decided to dedicate it to my son, who was born very early last year and who joins a long-line of William Maguires. We’ve created a number of new employment opportunities at the bar we’re still recruiting.”
Billy continued: “We’re delighted with the progress we’ve made with the holiday park too, since we took it over in September 2013. Maguires Country Parks are all 5 star quality and we’re committed to providing the same standard of service in the beautiful Northumberland countryside.”
Anne-Marie Trevelyan, MP for Berwick-Upon-Tweed, added: “It was my pleasure to open the park today and to celebrate investment in tourist and leisure facilities in the heart of beautiful Northumberland.”
