Travel agency Dawson & Sanderson opens 23rd branch
North East travel agency Dawson & Sanderson has opened a new store in Washington, the firm’s 23rd branch.
The site will employ eight full and part-time staff across travel and foreign exchange including four newly created positions.
Staff welcomed customers to its newest branch at The Galleries shopping centre with a champagne reception and host of offers and incentives for holidaymakers.
Chris Harrison, Managing Director of Dawson & Sanderson, said: “While we have rebranded several of our branches in recent years, Washington is our first new opening since Durham in 2013.
“Our customers expect experience, knowledge and expertise from our advisors and that is exactly what they will get at the Washington branch. As one of the country’s largest independently owned travel agencies, we are not tied to particular brands or holiday providers, so can always offer independent, impartial advice at the best value. Our aim is always to provide holidays beyond expectation.”
Dawson & Sanderson is still owned by the same family who set it up 53 years ago and has branches from Ashington in the north to Doncaster in the south.
Earlier this year, Dawson & Sanderson won praise nationally for its initiative to scrap credit card fees for bookings while its award-winning apprenticeship scheme was recognised as one of the best in the North East.
Mr Harrison added: “I am delighted that our branch at the Galleries is now open. It’s a fantastic location and we look forward to welcoming customers old and new in the coming months and years.
“It has been a busy year for Dawson & Sanderson with some amazing recognition for some of the schemes and initiatives we have introduced for customers and staff. Now our big focus is on making sure customers get their bookings in early for summer 2017.”
