45 new jobs created as Brighouse retail scheme completes
The redevelopment of a former car showroom in Brighouse has now been completed, delivering a new 40,000 sq ft retail scheme occupied by B&M and Pets at Home.
Both retailers open their doors on 21st October, with B&M launching one of its larger concept stores complete with a garden centre, while Pets at Home incorporates its new vets and grooming concept.
Gregory Property Group acquired the site on Bradford Road last year and moved quickly to secure planning consent and complete construction in less than one year.
The group was able to secure immediate pre lets with B&M and Pets at Home due to the prominent location and subsequently secured forward funding for £5m through an investment sale to Bramall Properties.
Barry Gregory, chairman of Gregory Property Group, said, “We are pleased to handover this successful redevelopment to two highly reputable and strong performing retailers.
“It is rewarding to transform a dysfunctional site to provide great new facilities for the local community in Brighouse.
“This project represents a very successful venture for us and we look forward to progress further opportunities in the region.”
Barry Gregory met on site with new B&M’s Manager Kelly Mather to officially handover the new store.
Kelly said: “We are really excited to accept the keys and we can’t wait to get the doors open on Friday and show customers their new B&M Brighouse.”
“We’re feeling really positive about the creation of more than 45 new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.
“As a business we’re able to sell some great big name brands at really good value prices – so we’ll also be able help locals save money on their shopping.”
