Regeneration firm St. Modwen reveals Crosby investment plans
Regeneration company St. Modwen has revealed new plans to invest in Crosby.
The firm is looking to refurbish the Glenn Buildings, located to the south of Moor Lane in the heart of the town’s Village Centre.
The proposals bring forward four units designed for modern retailers in the existing Glenn Buildings site, as well as a new larger format unit to attract new occupiers to the scheme.
St. Modwen acquired the site earlier this year in a £2m deal.
David Nuttall, the company’s development manager, said that since snapping up the Crosby site, St. Modwen has been “working to understand the buildings and [has] invested significantly in a range of surveys and investigative works at the site”.
Speaking further, he said: “Having secured Home Bargains within the village, this next phase of investment will safeguard the future of the Glenn Buildings – a feature on the high street for over 84 years – as well as bringing modern retail accommodation to Crosby Village Centre.
“This is the next step in our vision for our assets in Crosby and we are confident that this investment will boost not only this particular building but the whole Village Centre.”
From its headquarters in Birmingham, St. Modwen has increased its Merseyside presence with a string of redevelopment projects this year, including its multi-million pound regeneration of Kirkby.
