West Yorkshire fire protection firm completes MBO
Checkmate Fire Solutions Ltd, the fire protection and survey company, has announced the completion of a management buy out for an undisclosed sum.
The deal, which was backed by funding from the Royal Bank of Scotland, sees Managing Director Mark Williams and Southern Operations and Technical Director, Pat Murphy, have acquire the existing shares of Alan Oliver, the Director of the Compliance Division.
As part of the acquisition, Oliver will remain with the business while Simon Moate, who advised the management team on the deal, will also join the business as Non-Executive Director.
Following confirmation of the buy out, Mark Williams, Managing Director at Checkmate commented: “Pat and I have both worked at Checkmate for over seventeen years and are focused on continuing the company’s strong growth and commitment to providing top class services to our wide-ranging client base across the UK and internationally.
“We are delighted to acquire the shareholding of the business. For our customers’ nothing changes, it is very much business as usual and we are looking forward to developing Checkmate’s services further as a pioneer in fire protection services.”
Formed in the 1989, Checkmate operates out of two offices at Lowfields Business Park in Elland, West Yorkshire and covers the South of the country from its Dunmow base in Essex.
Providing fire protection installation services and surveys, the company has worked with major clients including Great Ormond Street Hospital, The National Archives and University College London.
