Dr. Martens creates 10 jobs with new shop on Chester’s historic Shoemakers’ Row
Footwear retailer Dr. Martens is opening a store in the heart of Chester this week.
Launching just in time for Christmas, the new 687 sq ft shop on Northgate Street has created 10 jobs.
The site will be the British brand’s 28th store nationwide.
Daniel Freeland, the company’s UK marketing manager, said: “Dr. Martens is excited to be opening its 6th and final store of 2016 in the beautiful city of Chester.
“Well-known for its historic landmarks, rich tourism industry and musical diversity, it was a natural fit for the brand.”
He continued: “Northgate Street in particular was a draw due to its stunning listed, timber-framed frontages and being home to ‘Shoemakers’ Row’ so we’re look forward to being part of the retail scene there.”
Dr. Martens’ Chester shop, at 7 Northgate Street, will open this Thursday (December 22).
