New trampoline park for former East Ham theatre
A former theatre in East London is set to be transformed into a new £1.8m trampoline park, creating more than 80 new jobs.
Flip Out, the world’s fastest growing trampoline operator, will open at Barking’s former Granada Theatre in the spring.
The company runs nine trampoline parks across the country including one in Wandsworth, and the new 33,000 sq ft arena in East Ham will be its first high street venue.
The former theatre on Barking Road played host to The Beatles and The Rolling Stones in the sixties and was most recently used as a bingo hall, closing in 2014.
The investment sees new life being breathed into the historic venue by Flip Out whose MD, Jon Inwards, said:
“We’re really excited about this Flip Out store as it represents a number of firsts for the company, as we continue to grow across the UK.
“It’s our first duplex arena and will feature some activities which will be unique to Barking and new state-of-the-art equipment unique to London and the world.
“The history of the building will also be reflected and more details will be revealed in the coming weeks.”
