intu Trafford Centre’s LEGO attraction set for £1m renovation
Leisure operator Merlin Entertainments has revealed plans to carry out a seven-figure renovation of its LEGOLAND Discovery Centre at intu Trafford Centre.
From April, the new-look family entertainment hub will feature a LEGO Ninjago-themed play attraction and a new floor-to-ceiling window café.
The site will also boast a bigger Creative Workshop space, where fans of the toy line can watch the Discovery Centre’s master model builder at work.
Additionally, the centre will house a newly located LEGO Racers Build & Test Zone along with new birthday party rooms.
In total, the £1m project will see more than 4,802 sq ft of the site will be renovated.
The attraction’s general manager, Jenn McDonough, said: “LEGOLAND Discovery Centre is a popular attraction for families, and we wanted to build on that, by offering much more interactive and imaginative play.
“LEGO Ninjago is so iconic for LEGO fans, we wanted to give our young visitors an immersive adventure, combined with fantastic play.”
She added: “This all new-build is the biggest investment, since launch and we can’t wait for families and children to enjoy it for themselves.”
