Anytime Fitness invests £500k to launch new 24/7 gym at Beverley’s Flemingate
Anytime Fitness is set to open its first club in East Yorkshire at Flemingate, Beverley, in May.
The 7,500 sq ft first-floor unit with a ground-floor entrance is located close to retailers Debenhams and Outfit.
As well as having 24/7 access to the club, members will also benefit from an investment of more than £500k in fit-out and gym equipment.
Personal trainers will be available alongside communal workout areas and a studio for exercise classes.
Anytime Fitness will also work with Flemingate to utilise its outdoor public space for exercise classes and group activities in the spring and summer months.
This location is part of the brand’s plans to launch 200 new venues in 2017, and follows the recently achieved milestone of over 100,000 members in the UK.
Neel Sodha, franchise owner, commented: “Flemingate fits the Anytime Fitness model to a tee. It’s a great location, with a large 24-hour car park on site, the rail station just two minutes’ walk away and bus station close by.
“Beverley is also a large and affluent community with lots of professional people and students who are all concerned about looking after their health and wellbeing.”
David Donkin, property director at Wykeland Group, said: “Anytime Fitness adds yet another element to the leisure mix at Flemingate. It enhances the daytime and evening offer and is unique proposition to Beverley and the surrounding area, which will benefit the local community all year round.
“The brand will draw footfall to the centre, which will be great for the retail and leisure outlets, and the fitness club will also benefit from access to the 800 people who now work at Flemingate.
“It’s another great example of Flemingate bringing a business to Beverley that otherwise could not be accommodated in the town.”
