G3 launches advanced audio video inspection tool

Following 18 months of in-house technical development and £150,000 of investment, G3 Remarketing has launched a new mobile inspection and asset management application – AVID.

Utilising Microsoft’s Universal Windows Platform (UWP) technology, the vehicle appraisal system has been purposefully created to satisfy the changing demands of the market. The first of its kind to include video, audio descriptions and HD images, AVID has also been designed so that it is fully configurable. In fact, G3’s joint director Matt Dale claims the application will now set the auction industry benchmark.

Explaining the reason for the bespoke build, he said: “For many years, we’ve been utilising a regimented inspection tool. However, as clients’ requirements have continued to change, we’ve increasingly struggled to find anything that truly serviced the needs of the industry and therefore our business. So, after six months of market research we decided to expand our mobile development team and create a unique application ourselves.”

The new G3 app allows inspectors to capture a more accurate assessment of a car’s true condition, using over 20 vehicle-specific ‘splats’. Instead of providing a ‘one size fits all’ solution, the system’s grading and pricing criteria can be adapted to suit clients’ individual requirements.

“Our vehicle grading system is underpinned by NAMA principles, but with a far greater level of detail for clients,” Dale elaborates. “Whilst the standard NAMA grading is not embraced by all sectors, our options allow users to compare grades across a wider spectrum, providing the industry with the confidence it has been searching for.

“Whilst we’ve recently expanded our physical auction programme, the technology that services online buyers still remains of paramount importance to our business. This new inspection tool will substantially enhance that experience for both vendors and purchasers alike.”

But it seems the innovation will not stop here. The launch of AVID marks the first in a series of mobile technology releases from the G3 brand. The company is in the process of rolling out a full suite of asset management apps – for both internal and 3rd party use – with the next product due to be unveiled later this month.

“Our new field valuation tool has recently been launched allowing licensed users to request instant valuations, obtain fixed underwrites and schedule collections for disposal,” expands Matt. “Our site stock management app with Near Field Communication (NFC) will also follow this summer. Together, these feature-rich tools will provide a comprehensive alternative to less accommodating systems within the remarketing arena.”

All of G3’s mobile applications will be fully stage-integrated into the company’s new-look website, which is due to go live in April. AVID will also be rolled out to field-based collection agents over the coming six months. But that’s not all.

“We’ve developed the apps so that, with the help of web APIs and third party licensing agreements, they can be used as entirely standalone services,” Dale concluded. “It’s all part of our commitment to driving up standards in this sector.”
