Sale Sharks take off with new aviation services deal
Sale Sharks have added a new brand to their growing list of corporate partners after signing an agreement with a global aviation services group.
As part of the deal, Air Partner will become an official sponsor and support the club’s travel requirements with its Commercial Jets and Private Jets divisions.
Last month, the Sharks called on Air Partner’s Commercial Jets arm to arrange the team’s return flight from Manchester to Toulon in France, where they played in a European Rugby Champions Cup fixture against RC Toulon.
Sale Sharks’ commercial director, Mark Cueto, commented: “We are delighted that Air Partner has joined our expanding portfolio of club sponsors.
“Their understanding and experience of working with some of the country’s top sports teams means they are perfectly placed to support the needs of our squad, owners and corporate partners, as demonstrated by our recent trip to Toulon. We look forward to working with them over the coming year.”
Air Partner has worked with sports organisations for over 50 years, catering for the travel needs of sportspeople, their teams and fans.
In 2016, the company’s European team transported more than 21k passengers across 350 flights to 130 destinations for various sporting events, from the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro to the Euros in France.
Air Partner CEO Mark Briffa said: “We are absolutely delighted to have agreed this partnership with the Sharks and to have flown them to their recent game in France.
“Air Partner has worked closely with the sports industry for several decades now and knows that it is the details that really matter – whether it’s providing an on-board physiotherapist, arranging bespoke catering in line with players’ dietary requirements, or maximising branding opportunities.”
He added: “Our ServicePLUS offering also means that our sporting clients can customise their flights any way they want to ensure they have a winning travel experience every single time.”
