Ben Sherman officially opens first Doncaster store at Lakeside Village
Menswear fashion brand Ben Sherman has opened its first Doncaster store, at the retail outlet centre Lakeside Village.
Daniel Fell, chief executive of Doncaster Chamber of Commerce, officially opened the 1,895sq ft store, marking the brand’s first move into the South Yorkshire borough.
Speaking at the event, Daniel said: “It’s fantastic to welcome Ben Sherman to Lakeside Village here in Doncaster. As a fan of the brand myself, I know its arrival will be very well received.
“Retail is a big contributor to Doncaster’s economy and I look forward to seeing the store and Lakeside Village go from strength to strength.”
Ben Sherman’s arrival in Doncaster forms part of its nationwide expansion, with stores also opening in seven locations including Castleford, Braintree, Liverpool and Birmingham before the end of April.
The store, managed by Claire Heggarty, offers Ben Sherman garments for up to 60% less than the RRP.
John Magee, centre manager at Lakeside Village, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Ben Sherman to Lakeside Village.
“The name is synonymous with style and its arrival here marks our commitment as a centre to attracting bigger brands to the area.”
The store joins Lakeside Village’s current lineup of menswear retailers, including Moss Bros, Jeff Banks, Suit Direct, M&S Outlet, Next Outlet and Dickies.
The centre’s arrival takes Lakeside Village’s occupancy rate to 98% and follows its best year in almost a decade, with sales rising by more than 5% and over 1.7 million transactions carried out at the centre in 2016.
John Magee added: “We’re seeing more and more well-known high street names and big brands joining the list of retailers and products on offer here at Lakeside Village and, as our figures show, our loyal shoppers are loving it.”
