The Gym Group signs on for £150m ‘Project Jennifer’ scheme in Liverpool
Developers St. Modwen have announced that The Gym Group have signed on for their massive, multi-million pound regeneration scheme at Great Homer Street in Liverpool.
The 24-hour gym chain has agreed a lease for a 10,000 sq ft unit at the new District Centre in north Liverpool, where it will join prospective tenants B&M and Home Bargains who have already signed deals at the site.
It marks another new tenant for the £150m ‘Project Jennifer’ scheme which is due for completion this summer, anchored by a new Sainsbury’s supermarket, with just a single 6,000 sq ft unit still up for lease.
The District Centre portion of the project is being developed by St Modwen in partnership with Liverpool City Council, bringing retail and now the Houslow-headquartered gym group’s around-the-clock gym concept to the area.
Paul Batho, Projects Director at St. Modwen, commented: “The Gym Group’s signing boosts the scheme’s offering by providing Great Homer Street with an affordable and accessible fitness facility. We welcome The Gym Group to the District Centre.
Jonathan Spaven, Property Director of the Gym Group, said: “The development of the District Centre is helping to revitalise North Liverpool and this site, which has excellent transport links and high footfall retail and leisure facilities in the immediate locality, provides the perfect location for us.”
Hitchcock Wright and Colliers are the joint letting agents for the scheme who are currently marketing the remaining space at Great Homer Street.
