Leisure operator Signature Living Group has achieved a record year after seeing profits surge 250%.
The Liverpool-based hotel business reported a pre-tax profit of £5.6m for the 12 months to April 1 2016, up from £1.6m the year previous.
Founded nine years ago by Lawrence and Katie Kenwright, today Signature owns four hotels across Liverpool, including the The Shankly and 30 James Street.
In recent years the company has expanded rapidly, branching out into residential development and delivering new hotels in Preston,Cardiff and Belfast.
Signature Living Group chairman Lawrence Kenwright said: “This is a phenomenal set of results, with all of our hotels, restaurants and bars making a strong contribution.
“Signature Living has experienced remarkable growth, and our investors, stakeholders and hard-working employees are delighted with the results.”
He added: “Over the next 12 months, our focus is firmly on the expansion of our hotel portfolio. We will seek every opportunity to increase profitable turnover even further than our projected £20m.”
Signature Living Group, which started out with one serviced apartment in 2008, moved into the mainstream hotel market in 2013 with the opening of 30 James Street – a Titanic-themed hotel located in the former headquarters of the White Star Line Company.
