New all-day Camden dining spot Gabeto opens its doors
A new eatery mixing British ingredients with Latin flavours has opened its doors on Chalk Farm Road housed within a former Victorian stable block.
Lee Andrews’ Gabeto is an all-day bar and restaurant that has just opened at Camden Market offering patrons food and drink alongside daytime workspace, casual and formal eating areas, a cocktail bar and a terrace area.
The hip venue will offer up breakfast right through to post-midnight snacks and drinks, while its outdoor terrace will host food pods and a shifting line-up of street operators curated by General Manager Nicol Harrison-Dwyer.
The two-storey Long Stable building includes original vaulted brick ceilings and timber trusses, with exposed timber and brick paired with modern art and colour retro-style furniture, while its workspace area boasts large booths and an industrial-style zinc table.
Elsewhere, the opulent, of-the-moment stylings inside will stretch to a set of commissioned murals by John Bulley, the renowned artist behind the Camden Lock bridge, referencing the area’s industrial heritage in the process.
The vast eatery is the latest venture from Andrews following his stint as senior chef de partie at Chiltern Firehouse, a favourite celebrity haunt in Marylebone patronised by the likes of Lyndsay Lohan and David Cameron.
Commenting a few months ago ahead of Gabeto’s launch, Head Chef Andrews said: “Our cuisine is based on British brasserie dining injected with a delicate yet delicious twist.
“Our wood oven infuses dishes with a subtle smoky flavour, sealing in moisture for each succulent bite.”
