Moston care home acquired by Yorkshire firm Qualia Care
A care home north of Manchester is set for investment after being acquired by Qualia Care.
The deal will see Alexian Brothers Care Centre, located in Moston, renamed St Mary’s Nursing Home.
The Manchester-based specialist markets team of CBRE sold the facility to Qualia Care on behalf of the Congregation of Alexian Brothers – a brotherhood within the Catholic church – for an undisclosed sum.
The 2.17 acre site, built in 1992, comprises a handful of buildings with space for 74 service users.
Qualia Care, headquartered in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, said it now plans to invest in improving the services and facilities for residents.
Phil Whitaker, the firm’s managing director, said: “We are delighted to have acquired this home. St Mary’s fits with our strategy of obtaining established homes in the North of England and further enhancing the service they provide to local communities. We look forward to working with residents, relatives and colleagues at St Mary’s.”
Shaun Skidmore, senior director in CBRE’s National Specialist Markets team, commented: “The purchase of St Mary’s is a great opportunity for Qualia Care as the home enjoys a well established reputation with consistent occupancy levels.
“They are committed to delivering excellent care, whilst improving the on-site facilities. Overall the ambition is to develop and modernise the site, as well as introduce additional care services which will in turn maximise referrals and income.”
He added: “St Mary’s will be an excellent addition to Qualia Care’s portfolio of North of England care homes.”
