Project wins drive Manchester growth for re-form Landscape Architecture
re-form Landscape Architecture is preparing to expand into a new office in Manchester on the back of several project wins.
The move to a 921 sq ft space at Beehive Mill in Ancoats will follow the promotion of Manchester studio head David Livesey to director.
As a shareholder in the business, David’s remit will be to grow the firm’s North West workforce, which recently joined the design team creating a development framework for the University of Salford and Salford City Council.
The project will see re-form work with 5plus Architects to review the university’s estate at Peel Park and develop the vision for a new 244-acre city district connecting to surrounding neighbourhoods.
re-form also recently helped property firms Belgravia Living and Evans Property Group secure the greenlight for the next phase of Piccadilly Basin, which includes a nine-storey hotel, residential building and revamped public space next to the Rochdale Canal.
Andrew Price, director at re-form, said: “David’s promotion is both in recognition of his contribution to the practice to date, and our commitment to our Manchester studio.
“We’ve established a fantastic team in the city who are working on some great projects in the city centre and across the North West, and now is the right time to move into a larger space which can accommodate our future growth.”
re-form Landscape Architecture, which has an office in Leeds, first expanded into Manchester at the end of 2015 when it signed up for space at The Hive on Lever Street in the Northern Quarter.
David Livesey commented: “Moving into new office space will enable us to harness opportunities presented by a growing number of major projects in the region.
“More than ever, developers and those working in the built environment realise the benefits of incorporating high quality public realm to create a place, and not just a building, for the people who live, work and play in our cities and towns.”
