Luxury Liverpool hotel becomes the first in the city to offer electric car charging points

The Titanic Hotel and Rum Warehouse have rolled out electric vehicle charging points at their car park as the adoption of electric cars continues apace.

The 153-bed luxury hotel and event space has become the first in Liverpool to offer EV charging points, with customers able to reserve charging bays at the time of booking.

Boasting three charging bays in its car park, including two dedicated Tesla bays and one universal charge point, the hotel has said it has already received a positive reaction from both its business and leisure guests and plans to expand its charging provisions in future.

The Stanley Dock venue, which launched following a £36m renovation of former industrial warehouses, timed the launch of the new bays in tandem with the release of Tesla’s Model 3 electric car which has seen the technology take another step towards the mass market.

Brian Connor, General Manager at the Titanic Hotel Liverpool commented: “The spotlight is firmly on energy efficiency and the Titanic is proud to support this move towards the future.

“It really is an exciting time for automobiles and we are glad to be the first hotel in Liverpool to offer this service to our guests.”

According to Brian, the hotel has already had guests opting for the Titanic Hotel over their rivals thanks to their charging points, and he said that the hotel already plans to install lightning chargers and lockable stations in the near future.

He added: “After introducing the service just last week, we have already had enquiries from guests changing hotels to stay with us which is a testament to how popular the service will be.”
