Footlocker is opening one of its biggest ever stores at Liverpool ONE
Footwear giant Foot Locker is opening a 21,000 sq ft store at Liverpool ONE.
The new site will be located on South John Street in the unit currently occupied by entertainment retailer HMV, which is relocating to a 13,000 sq ft store on the same strip.
Once operational, the new Foot Locker will be one of the biggest in the company’s international portfolio of 2,500 stores.
Alison Clegg, director of asset management at Grosvenor Europe, the company behind Liverpool ONE, said: “Securing Foot Locker is a reflection of our strategy of providing visitors with a highly compelling and relevant offer that is unavailable elsewhere.
“Along with the new HMV, the new stores will provide on-trend, exciting offers that further strengthen Liverpool ONE’s great mix of brands.”
She continued: “An increasing number of retailers including Foot Locker, JD Sports, and Nespresso have launched new stores concepts in Liverpool ONE, an endorsement of their performance and confidence.”
The deal with Foot Locker follows a string of openings from sportswear and footwear brands at Liverpool ONE in recent months, including new stores for JD and Superdry.
In November, fashion retailer 7Liverpool celebrated its first birthday at the shopping complex. The company occupies a 1,200 sq ft unit on Paradise Street.
Liverpool ONE was represented in the deal by property firms Cushman & Wakefield and Metis Real Estate Advisors. Brasier Freeth acted for Foot Locker, while HMV dealt direct.
