The Yorkshire Bar and grill Staff “Flip Out” For Charity!
Staff from a York restaurant will be “flipping out” for charity this Tuesday with Yorkshire-themed pancakes.
The team from The Yorkshire bar and grill – located within the DoubleTree by Hilton York – will be undertaking a sponsored pancake toss this Tuesday, in aid of St Leonard’s Hospice.
In addition to the Shrove Tuesday challenge, which is being staged between 10am and 6pm, the venue’s chefs have created two Yorkshire-themed pancakes – chicken and Yorkshire ham hock and rhubarb and custard.
These savory and sweet dishes will be sold throughout the course of the day, with a percentage of the sales being donated to the hospice.
The Yorkshire bar and grill’s general manager, Graham Usher, said: “The team are already undertaking a fund-raising challenge for the hospice, so we thought it would be fun to do something for them this Tuesday.
“Whilst we don’t envisage beating the world record of 140 flips in one minute, set by an Australian chef six years ago, we do hope plenty of customers will appreciate our efforts and toss money into collection tins dotted around the restaurant.”
“And if the weather is kind, we will ‘flip’ our way around the streets of York.”
