Passenger milestone for Luton Airport as retail offering grows

London Luton Airport (LLA) welcomed more than one million passengers last month as its retail and leisure offering continues to expand.

In total, 1,042,325 passengers travelled through LLA in February, making it the airport’s 13th consecutive month of serving more than a million fliers.

Eight retail stores have launched at LLA so far this year, including Oliver Bonas’ first ever airport shop and openings from Kurt Geiger, Ted Baker, Rituals and Fiorelli.

Leisure options likewise grew with the launch last month of Dubl, a premium wine bar specialising in sparkling wines.

Oriel Brasserie, which will offer French-inspired dishes, is due to open in the coming months.

Other retailers arriving at LLA soon include fashion brands Hugo Boss and Chanel.

Airport CEO Nick Barton said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer people a new and improved choice of shops and restaurants when they travel with us.

“The fact that so many prominent retailers have chosen to open stores at LLA is further evidence of our transformation into a world class international airport.”

The openings are the latest stage in the airport’s ongoing £160m redevelopment programme, which includes the newly extended terminal opening later this year.
