Anfield favourite The Sandon pub set to expand and become hotel too
Anfield’s popular Sandon pub is set for a £1 million expansion, and will become a 115-bed hotel that is to complete in October.
The pub will continue in partnership with LFC to deliver outstanding hospitality and be the popular hangout that is frequented by football fans and locals alike.
But it will also create more jobs in the heart of Anfield and retain tourists in the area, rather than pushing them to stay in the city centre.
Liverpool is bursting with visitors and can become saturated with stag and hen parties meaning that when there are big home games, football fans can struggle to find a hotel room.
The Sandon’s hotel will be the obvious choice for LFC fans and will boost the local economy, driving visitors to spend more money in the area that is home to Liverpool Football Club’s ground.
Owner Kate Stewart said: “We’re thrilled to be expanding The Sandon pub and creating a hotel. Anfield should be a tourist destination in its own right and this will allow football fans to stay in the area.
“We’ll be offering our popular and outstanding hospitality service, but with the added benefit of staying right in the heart of Anfield. The hotel will be a fantastic addition to the area.”
