Jobs, gin and £500,000 on the menu
Local entrepreneurs set to shake and stir up hospitality scene with big investment
The ‘million dollar’ cocktail just got a Millside makeover courtesy of a £500,000 cash injection designed to bring a bit of fizz to the County Antrim hospitality scene.
An investment of half a million pounds has seen the opening of a new gin and cocktail lounge as owners of the Millside Restaurant in Cloughmills create 15 new jobs and increase venue capacity from 40 to 100.
The ‘Millside half-million cocktail’ will be served up in style in the new venue, which is just one part of the owners’ plan to take the renowned venue to the next level within Northern Ireland’s booming hospitality scene.
Already celebrated for their delicious food and excellent hospitality, owners Stephanie Gray and Darrel Stevenson had the vision to expand the venue and create a fresh new space where locals and visitors alike can enjoy a cocktail or two with their meal.
Millside Restaurant already offers a 40-seater restaurant serving up local, quality foods and the upstairs gin and cocktail lounge will allow patrons to start and end their evening in style. The lounge has been carefully planned and designed to offer a chic, intimate atmosphere, making it a perfect accompaniment to the existing restaurant.
Stephanie Gray, owner Millside Cloughmills said, “Since we opened in 2004, we’ve worked hard to deliver first class food to our customers.
“This has paid off with the reputation we’ve earned in the local area, and we felt that the time was right to expand the premises to offer something a little bit different.
“So that we can service both the busy restaurant and upstairs we have grown our team from 30 to 45 full and part time staff. We’ve designed the lounge as a place to enjoy pre-dinner drinks, sip on outstanding cocktails in a relaxed and indulgent ambience.
“We are really excited about our new space and can’t wait to show it off to existing and new customers in the days and weeks ahead.”
