£100k investment creates new bar-lounge concept at Jesmond’s Parichat at Sohe
Leisure operator Cairn Group has invested six-figures in a transformation of the the bar and lounge at Jesmond’s Parichat at Sohe.
A £100k injection saw the space overhauled and two recruits hired to deliver a new concept at the Osborne Road venue.
The new-look area is a social space featuring cushioned booths, oriental wallpaper and hanging lighting. Its bar will offer a menu of Pan-Asian cocktails, including 12 single-serve cocktails, two for sharing and three ‘mocktails’.
Parichat at Sohe launched in 2017 when the existing restaurant partnered with Thailand-born chef Parichat Somsri-Kirby.

Cairn Group director Naveen Handa said: “Following the partnership with Parichat which has set the restaurant’s food offering up there with the best Asian cuisine in the region, the natural next step was to add the same spice to the bar.
“I’m excited about the finished look and feel we’ve brought to life, and paired with our new cocktail selection it makes for a totally unique concept.”

Naveen continued: “As we are the group behind the likes of Juniper in Edinburgh, we want to be known in Newcastle for doing things differently and rival the top bars in London and the Scottish capital.
“We’re all about the guest experience, from first impressions of the venue through to the presentation of our drinks and their taste.”
