Sally’s Cottages Harbours a Fugitive for Hunted

Local holiday cottage letting agency Sally’s Cottages provided help to a ‘fugitive’ taking part in Channel 4’s popular programme, Hunted.

The reality series, now in its fourth season, follows contestants as they flee across the UK from former police and intelligence offers. The fugitives must travel the country without being caught – limiting their use of phones and ATMs, avoiding security cameras, and making minimum contact with loved ones – and the winner will receive a £100,000 prize.

Twenty-six-year-old personal trainer Loren Hannon hitchhiked her way across the UK from Liverpool, passing through the Lake District twice on her way up and down the country. Thanks to a friend, a regular guest with Sally’s Cottages, she hid out for one night at The Cobbles in Keswick before continuing with her escape route to evade the hunters.

Vanessa Saunders, a Customer Services Advisor at Sally’s Cottages, took the call asking for help. “I thought it was a joke at first,” laughs Vanessa, “but once they explained a little more, it sounded like a great idea and I said that we’d love to help. The team at Sally’s Cottages had a quick brainstorm and we spoke to the owner of The Cobbles who was happy to take part. I’ve worked at Sally’s Cottages for 7 years and this was a first for me!”

Loren was unfortunately caught by the Hunters whilst trying to secretly visit her mum, who suffers from agoraphobia.
