Leeds firm secures contract for ‘one of Europe’s largest city centre regeneration projects’
A property management specialist based in West Yorkshire has expanded its portfolio by securing a deal to manage 68 homes at a major Leeds regeneration project.
Scanlans, which is based in the local Thorpe Park business and retail complex, has secured a contract to look after properties on the Ironworks development in Holbeck Urban Village in the South Bank area of the city.
The joint scheme by igloo Regeneration and PfP Capital will comprise 53 apartments and 15 townhouses alongside two ground-floor commercial units and parking, and is expected to be completed next year.
Designed by Nick Brown Architects and constructed by Esh Build, the buildings are designed to be energy-efficient, with electric heating and highly-insulated walls and ceilings.
Michael Willans, senior property manager at Scanlans’ Leeds office, commented: “This appointment demonstrates the growing strength of our Leeds-based operation as we continue to win new business across the city.
“We are delighted to win the instruction at what will be a prominent residential block in the heart of the vibrant and evolving Holbeck Urban Village.
“We are looking forward to getting up and running with the management of this site when it is completed in 2021.”
Honor Massarella, development director at igloo, added: “We’re aiming to create something really special at the Ironworks – beautiful homes designed for people who want to put down roots.
“The Ironworks is the natural next step in the Holbeck Urban Village neighbourhood, close enough to all the city centre has to offer and far enough to have its own distinct community feel.
“We know that the team at Scanlans care passionately about looking after our emerging community and welcome them to the team.”
