Promotion at Portland
North-East Engineering Consultancy, Portland Consulting Engineers (Portland) has announced the promotion of an associate director within its team after a rapid period of growth.
Delivering civil and structural engineering design to the construction industry, Portland has strengthened its business model with the promotion of associate, Jonathan Eeles to associate director, in a move which will secure the company’s long-term growth and success.
Jonathan joined Portland in 2017 as senior engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry and gained his first promotion of associate in 2019. Knowledgeable in all sectors, Jonathan has established a strong base in the leisure, residential and commercial sectors, successfully delivering a number of hotels, homes and offices throughout the UK.
With this promotion Jonathan will assist the directors in a management role, whilst continuing his responsibility for the company’s structural team along with a keen interest to nurture new talent by proactively supporting and expanding the knowledge of the junior engineers.
Jonathan said: “I am delighted to be advancing my career at a great company and can’t wait to get stuck into my new role and be part of Portland’s bright future.”
Lee Barr, managing director of Portland, said: “It’s always fantastic to see colleagues progressing, but it’s really special to welcome Jonathan to a management role. Jonathan has made significant contributions to the business, helping to build new client relationships, improving the management of Portland, and bringing on the next generation of colleagues progressing within Portland. Even though we are currently in unprecedented and uncertain times, we know that our team is our biggest asset and that they are the ones who will help to get both us and our clients back to normal as quickly as possible.”
