North East housebuilder drives forward expansion strategy despite Covid-19
A North East housebuilder is pushing ahead with its expansion strategy despite the global Coronavirus pandemic.
Homes by Carlton, which is based in County Durham, is maximising the spike in housing demand by bringing three new homes developments on stream in County Durham and Tees Valley.
This is on the back of rising house prices across the country, with the North East and Yorkshire showing some of the largest growth rates in the country.
The new Homes by Carlton developments are supporting a regional supply chain which is set to grow in 2021, while resulting in employment growth at the same time.
Craig Peterson, co-founder of Growth Capital Ventures and Homes by Carlton, said: “We’re delighted to be rolling out our ambitions plans in the North East. The lockdowns and necessary social distancing on site have caused some delays but this has been offset by the strong demand we’re seeing.”
He continued: “So far, our Homes by Carlton team has grown to 20 members. This is anticipated to double over the coming years with plans for further recruitment due to take place in 2021.”
Middleton Waters, in the village of Middleton St George, is the largest of the current development by Homes by Carlton. It will be completed over four phases over several years. Within weeks of the first release, 14 three and four-bedroom properties were reserved off plan.
Craig Peterson said: “We are delighted with the interest Middleton Waters has generated to date and the outstanding support of our sales and marketing team.”
Other developments underway include Thorpe Paddocks in Thorpe Thewles, between Yarm and Stockton on Tees; and The Langtons in Redmarshall. Homes by Carlton has another 20 potential sites across the North East and Yorkshire and expects to deliver more than 1,000 new homes in the coming years.
Simon Walker, managing director at Homes by Carlton, added: “We’re quickly establishing a reputation as a regional housebuilder that creates beautiful, bespoke luxury homes in outstanding locations.
“Our Thorpe Thewles and Redmarshall sites are just two examples of stunning rural locations in charming, picturesque villages.”
