Simon Mydlowski, Clarion

Law firm Clarion has appointed Simon Mydlowski as partner.

Having gained knowledge of the property market in the North after 20 years in the sector, property lawyer Simon has advised on residential and industrial developments, commercial leases and property finance, acting for landowners, promoters, developers, housebuilders and occupiers.

Simon has experience in a range of property work, mostly commercial landlord and tenant orientated. He deals with investment property acquisitions and disposals, lettings and other portfolio management work.

Simon’s areas of specialism include secured lending in the licensed trade sector, acting for owners of bars, restaurants, hotels and breweries.

Simon spent 16 years as a partner with another Leeds-based law firm where he worked on a number of high-profile projects including residential developments, business parks, retail and mixed commercial developments.

Partner Martin Grange, who leads Clarion’s real estate practice, commented: “With his wealth of experience in the Yorkshire market, Simon has established a network of high quality clients among owner managed businesses here, and has a strong reputation for his funding work.

Keith Jones, Harrison Bathrooms

Bathroom product supplier Harrison Bathrooms has appointed Keith Jones as non-executive director.

Keith joins the business following a professional career with plumbing and heating specialist merchant Wolseley.

Starting his career with Wolseley UK as its first management trainee, Keith progressed through the business working across every department in branch and HQ and spent time within sales, branch and supply chain management, before being appointed as HR director.

In 1998 Keith was appointed managing director for Wolseley UK’s Lightside businesses and in 2004, he moved to Switzerland to run Wolseley’s central and Eastern European businesses.

In 2009, Keith moved back to the UK to head up the UK P&H business. Keith retired from Wolseley in August 2016 and in March 2017 co-founded BOXT, an online platform that enables consumers to purchase a next day, fixed-price fitted boiler replacement.

Keith has been associated with several trade bodies, having previously chaired The ACE (The Association for the Conservation of Energy), the Builders Merchants P&H Forum, and the Heating and Hot Water Councils Merchants Group.

David Gibson, Hull Trains

Hull Trains has appointed David Gibson as managing director.

After leaving the Royal Air Force in 2003, David joined Hull City Council as assistant chief executive.

David later moved to Capita’s Consulting and Transformation division, as a director in the Programme & Project Management Practice, delivering solutions for several clients the UK & Ireland.

David’s most recent roles include managing director for DB Regio Tyne & Wear and service delivery director for Caledonian MacBrayne Ferries.

Eve King, Rinew Legal

Legal firm Rinew Legal has appointed lawyer Eve King to its team.

Eve King brings over five years’ experience in all forms of dispute resolution firm. With clients ranging from marketing agencies to national tech companies, Eve has a background in industries like media, creative, construction and tech. Eve has experience in defence work in high-profile, complex discrimination claims to advising on high value Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations and negotiating exit terms.
