Dragonfly completes on £1.7m fit-out out project for Vita Group

Interior construction specialists Dragonfly has completed on a £1.7m furnishing project on a luxury aparthotel in Manchester on behalf of developer Vita Group.

CitySuites II opened its doors to members of the public last month with a soft launch. The prestigious development consists of 142 luxury apartments, as well as spa facilities, a pool and a gym, a brasserie and meeting rooms.

Working alongside the contracts team at luxury furniture and lighting retailer Nest, Middleton-based design consultancy Dragonfly was appointed to oversee the full specification development and furnishing of the impressive venue.

Delivering a comprehensive, turnkey solution on behalf of developers Vita Group, the year-long project involved an initial period of design and furniture workshops, followed by a 16-week procurement period and 12 weeks delivery and install.

With the accommodation ranging from studio through to three-bedroom apartments, the new development is aimed at people travelling for both business and pleasure.

Commenting on the project Tess McKenna from Dragonfly, which specialises in space planning, 3D design, furniture selection, construction and technology integration, said: “The CitySuites aparthotels are a game changer for the Manchester hospitality scene.

“The high-end luxury finishes, the self-contained apartments with fully fitted kitchens, and the complementary facilities and services are attractive to people travelling for both business and leisure purposes, and for people looking to stay just a few nights or longer.

“We were delighted to be appointed by Vita to oversee this development and to be trusted with such a significant furnishing brief.

“A huge amount of time has gone into choosing every last detail of the design of these apartments – from the linen to the furniture and light fixtures and fittings, right through to the teaspoons in the fully fitted kitchens.

“As ever, the commercial team at Nest were hugely helpful in accessing the high-end, luxury products that would perfectly complement the space and their delivery and installation service was impeccable.”

Based on New Kings Head Yard in Embankment West, CitySuites II is located close to Manchester Cathedral and designer stores such as Selfridges and Harvey Nichols. It is the second CitySuites facility to open in the city.

Luxury furniture retailer Nest’s contracts team was appointed by Dragonfly to supply statement furniture for the scheme, including &Tradition solid oak, marble and steel lounge tables.

Tess from Dragonfly added: “We’re currently appointed to oversee the fit-out and furnishing of a number of mixed-use schemes across Manchester and the North-West – including a handful of new build projects, and some that are repurposing existing buildings.

“We’re very much looking forward to working shoulder-to-shoulder with the Nest team on these projects and to delivering stunning results on behalf of our clients.”
