Landsec signs Big Easy at Bluewater for first outside London
Landsec has announced the signing of Big Easy, the home smoked barbecue and fresh lobster restaurant and bar brand, for a 6,100 sq ft site at Bluewater in what will be Big Easy’s first location outside London when it opens in November.
Situated on the upper level of Bluewater’s Plaza, which is focused on entertainment dining and anchored by Showcase Cinema De Lux, Big Easy will include 236 covers over two levels, with a live music stage on the mezzanine. The design and feel of the Big Easy is inspired by the American Gulf Coast states, in particular Texas and Florida, and will feature a stunning bar serving over 500 different bourbons, tequillas and whiskeys, a separate rum bar, and a theatre kitchen.
Rob Hardie, Portfolio Director at Landsec, co-owners and asset managers of Bluewater, said: “Big Easy is the latest in a series of brands that have chosen Bluewater to launch their first location outside London. Big Easy’s unique approach, from the theatre and entertainment it provides guests to the range and quality of food and drinks it serves, adds something new to Bluewater, helping us to surprise and delight guests on every visit.”
Paul Corrett, founder of Big Easy, added: “Bluewater is a great destination with a significant following among Big Easy fans, so making the commitment to open our first restaurant outside London there was an easy decision. Landsec has worked with our team to deliver a great space in which the Big Easy brand will be brought to life for the enjoyment of Bluewater’s guests.”
The signing of Big Easy follows the launch of the first Amazon 4-star store in the UK at Bluewater earlier this month, with the brand making its debut on Bluewater’s upper Guildhall.
