North Yorkshire travel agent rebrands and relocates as luxury tourism takes off
A Harrogate based travel agent is taking advantage of the luxury tourism boom, as it rebrands and relocates to larger premises on Montpellier Parade.
In its move to the prestigious town centre location, a stone’s throw from Valley Gardens, Ventur Luxury Travel accelerates its growth plans by becoming more accessible to customers.
This move comes as research has suggested the average value per booking has more than doubled from 2019 (£3.7k) to 2022 (£8.1k).
Founded 35 years ago and formerly known as Traveltalk, the travel agents has tripled its store footprint and held ambitions to double its 2019 turnover in the next 12 months as the industry recovers following the effects of the pandemic.
For 2022 bookings, the Ventur Luxury Travel team have revealed that Dubai and Oman, along with the Caribbean and Maldives, have been the most popular destinations through to April due to the low level of entry requirements and warm winter climates.
Closer to home, Europe continues to be a popular choice for summer sun, with Greece and its “chic islands” currently taking the crown for 2022, accounting for a third (33.3 per cent) of all bookings to date, compared to 2.5 per cent in 2019.
Katherine Scott, manager at Ventur Luxury Travel in Harrogate, said: “It’s no secret that 2020 and 2021 were challenging years for the travel industry, but we’re proud to make such a statement with this move. We couldn’t be happier to call Montpellier Parade our new home and to celebrate with the people of Harrogate.”
Backed by the Evans family of the Evans Property Group in Leeds, the travel agent is part of the Ventur Group, which also includes the firm’s corporate travel arm.
Paul Millington, CEO of Ventur Group, said: “It’s an exciting time for Ventur Luxury Travel and the increase in customer enquiries we’ve seen over the Winter period has proven that the appetite to travel is there. The move to Montpellier Parade is really exciting because we’ll be even better placed to create dream travel experiences for clients.”
