Intuita appoints Sofia Alcala Paterna as Data Excellence Practice Director

Intuita’s Latest Senior Hire Joins From KPMG To Lead New Data Excellence Practice

Intuita, one of the UK’s leading data solutions and analytics providers, has announced that Sofia Alcala Paterna has joined the company as Data Excellence Practice Director, from KPMG, to lead the firm’s new Data Excellence Practice. She will be responsible for defining and growing the Practice and contributing to the evolution of the new business capability to support clients’ expanding enterprise data requirements.

Sofia, who was previously Data Governance and Strategy Lead & Deputy Chief Data Officer, KPMG, brings a wealth of Data and IT Strategy leadership experience from her previous roles. Prior to KPMG, she was Data Governance and Strategy Lead at PwC and Head of Data Governance at MBNA.

Glenn Merritt, Managing Partner & Founder, Intuita, said, “We are delighted and proud that Sofia is joining Intuita to support our ambitious strategy for growth. We share a belief that Data Excellence is central to business success but is rarer than it should be in most industries, which is why we are establishing this Data Excellence Practice. Sofia was an obvious choice to lead the Practice, not only due to her significant enterprise experience, but also because she brings such passion and drive to see the world move towards Data Excellence.”

The Practice will help organisations to assess gaps and opportunities within their existing data ecosystem and create strategies that ensure the required operating models, processes and technologies are embedded throughout. The aim is to ensure businesses can reach a level of data maturity and have a culture of data whereby data is intrinsic to decision making at all levels of the organisation.

Sofia Alcala Paterna, Data Excellence Practice Director, Intuita, commented, “Intuita is already doing amazing things with data, so I’m thrilled to be leading this exciting new venture at the company. Our plan is to establish and evolve the firm’s new Data Excellence Practice, and upgrade our strategic direction to support organisations on everything data related. By combining my data-led experience with the best-in-class data specialists at Intuita, we plan to support organisations with new skills, data mindsets and agile ways of working to drive a competitive edge for UK plc.”

In previous roles, Sofia worked on major enterprise data project programmes, such as: leading the successful migration of ten different customer databases involving complex target architectures; implementing CDO capabilities across three different organisations at both market and global level; and the successful delivery of data reconciliation solutions, minimising lost revenue and regulatory penalties.
