Harrogate Town AFC to continue sponsorship with local Black Sheep Brewery
Yorkshire’s own Black Sheep Brewery will continue to sponsor local League Two side Harrogate Town AFC ahead of the 2022/2023 Football League season starting July 30.
Beginning last August, Black Sheep Brewery became the official beer of ‘Town’ as it played only its second season in the English football league, following promotion in the 2020 National League play-off final.
The Yorkshire brewery also plans on rewarding fans by continuing to offer a 10 per cent discount on purchases made in Black Sheep’s estate of pubs for Harrogate Town season ticket holders, as well as further matchday activations and giveaways right the way through the season.
Black Sheep chief executive, Charlene Lyons commented: “We’re delighted to once again be the official beer of local side Harrogate Town AFC.
“We partnered with the club last year and watched as Town fought hard each and every game to once again be proud members of the Football League, and we can’t wait to watch the lads go again when the season kicks off later this month!
“We’ve been working with a number of sports clubs across the Yorkshire region to help grow grassroots sport and rebuild communities following the global pandemic.
“As well as Harrogate Town AFC, we partnered with Huddersfield and Otley rugby clubs to do exactly that, and we’ve loved working with these clubs to reward both the teams and the supporters for their continued support the past 2 years. Stay tuned for what we have planned for Harrogate Town AFC throughout the 2022/2023 season”.
Black Sheep Brewery had supported HTAFC throughout last season in a number of events, launches and matchday activations. In addition to being the official beer of the club, in August 2021, Town’s newly built car park terrace was renamed ‘The Black Sheep Brewery Stand’.
Most notably, the brewery collaborated with the club to launch a new beer, Yellow Black Army, to celebrate Harrogate’s recent promotion to League Two. A “fruity, powerful” IPA packed with American hops, Yellow Black Army was made available at the HTAFC store in Harrogate, the brewery itself in Masham and on the Black Sheep Brewery website.
