“One-of-a-kind” London Home Show returns to support first time buyers

London’s “largest event for first time buyers” is set to return to the capital for the sixteenth time on Saturday September 17.

Taking place at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster from 10am to 5pm, the London Home Show will host over 45 housing providers, conveyancing solicitors, mortgage advisors and first time buyer experts.

The event will showcase thousands of Shared Ownership and Help to Buy properties available across London and the Home Counties, and provide free financial and legal advice on the day for those looking to purchase their first property.

Hosted by Share to Buy, an online portal for first time buyer homes, the London Home Show is free to attend and has welcomed thousands of guests twice a year since the inaugural event in 2013.

Guests can attend a series of ‘Ask the Expert: Shared Ownership 101’ sessions which will deep-dive into all things Shared Ownership, from eligibility criteria and applications to staircasing and selling.

‘First Time Buyer Workshops’ will also host a panel of industry experts including HomeViews, a property review platform where guests can gather independent opinions and advice on purchasing.

After a “hugely popular” debut in April this year, a series of ‘Affordability Workshops’ will also be returning to the London Home Show, hosted by first time buyer mortgage specialists Censeo Financial.

The specialised workshops will give attendees the opportunity to ask their questions about the mortgage process and learn about the options available to them.

Nick Lieb, head of operations for Share to Buy, commented: “The London Home Show is a one-of-a-kind resource for first time buyers across the capital. There is no other event that brings so many major housing providers, plus financial advisors and solicitors, together under one roof to provide one-on-one advice to attendees.”

“With the applications for Help to Buy closing at the end of October, buyers in London will be looking to other alternative home ownership schemes such as Shared Ownership more than ever.

“It has never been more important to provide potential purchasers with information about the buying options available to them – particularly as we approach a winter of rising living costs, when budgets will only be getting tighter.”
