Hannah Blunstone, CBRE

CBRE’s Planning & Development team has named Hannah Blunstone as its new Director to join the Northern business, in an internal move to focus on the team’s alternative use capabilities. Hannah has been with CBRE for more than a decade and was previously a director in the London and South East team.

She brings more than 15 years’ experience as a chartered town planner across a range of sectors, most recently focusing on life sciences, higher education and student accommodation, film studios, healthcare and more. Hannah will be based out of both Manchester and Leeds, with a focus on identified growth sectors across the region.

“She brings a wealth of experience from London and the South East in many of the growth areas we are seeing right now and will add depth to our strategic advice and the project management of major planning applications in these sectors. We look forward to Hannah joining us.”

Karen Barnett, The British Business Bank

The British Business Bank has appointed Karen Barnett as its new Chief People Officer, effective from October 2023.

Karen joins the British Business Bank from WH Ireland, a private wealth management, financial planning and capital markets services company where she was human resources director and a member of its executive committee.

Prior to joining WH Ireland, Karen was Head of Human Resources at Merian Global Investors where she focussed on organisational effectiveness, culture, talent acquisition, and supporting multiple business change agendas. Karen began her career working within a large team at the Department for Education.

Karen holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from Middlesex University and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Karen commented: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead the people function at the British Business Bank and partner with the CEO and Executive team.

“I look forward to joining the human resources team, working with the business to optimise support for smaller businesses and deliver the Bank’s goals of driving sustainable growth, backing innovation and unlocking potential, whilst working to build the modern, green economy.”

James Wallwork, Crossland Employment Solicitors

Abingdon based law firm Crossland Employment Solicitors is expanding its team with the addition of a further solicitor to meet demand.

Based on Milton Park, the nationally recognised employment law specialist has appointed James Wallwork to complement its long-standing team which already offers over 100 years of experience across its five solicitors and barristers.

Newly qualified, James has relocated to Oxfordshire from London to further his employment expertise with a top-tier team.
