First look inside ‘luxurious’ new Cheshire restaurant following £2m investment
A ‘luxurious’ new Piccolino Grande restaurant is set to open on Swan Street in Wilmslow this month, following a £2m investment by Individual Restaurant Group.
“Grandeur and decadence” exude from the Italian chic interiors at the new restaurant, which seats up to 220 guests in its main restaurant, ‘luxurious’ bar area, and winterised Tuscan terrace. Opening on 21 November, Piccolino Grande Wilmslow marks a new era for the much-loved Piccolino brand, bringing with it an exclusive menu unique to Wilmslow.
Andrew Garton, CEO at Individual Restaurants, commented: “The restaurant is a stage. It’s been designed to bring unforgettable food and drink experiences to life, delivered by passionate Italian people.
“Every element of the restaurant has been intricately and carefully curated to deliver a fully authentic, immersive Italian dining experience which delights the senses from the moment you walk through the door.
“Visually, guests will see food and drinks being prepared, showcased and served in every direction with the mouthwatering scent of cooking radiating from the open kitchen and the sights and sounds of food being lovingly prepared table-side echoing around, transporting guests to every region of Italy.
“There are food and drink cues at every turn and the interior design encapsulates everything that is special about Italian food and culture, elevating it in the most decadent of settings. Each area of the restaurant makes you feel like you’re on a journey through the rolling hills of Tuscany and the bustling streets of Naples, through to the fashion houses of Milan.”

With food and drink at the heart of the restaurant, large glass cabinets will store steak visible to diners who can select their cut of choice. Fresh, seasonal, quality Italian ingredients are prominent on the restaurant’s menu and the kitchen has been designed to showcase this.
With an open kitchen configured for guests to view Italian chefs, making authentic Italian food from fresh, raw ingredients, adding to the ‘theatre and experience’ with food at the fore.
A traditional copper clad pizza oven, a bespoke commission handmade in Italy, stands proud of its place in the restaurant, matched by the Steakhouse Grill in the open kitchen, making quite the statement that the steak at this restaurant is not-to-be-missed.
The wine collection at Piccolino Grande Wilmslow is showcased with displays installed in six different locations with wine visible from every table. The restaurant features a combination of elegant oak, marble and brass interiors, including stunning Carrara marble from Italy, brass trim panels and pendant lights, oak panelling and diamond mirrors.
