‘Much-loved landmark’ Camden pub to reopen following extensive refurbishment

Acquired by Young’s & Co.’s Brewery PLC in 2020, The Constitution in Camden, is set to reopen its doors in February 2024, following an extensive refurbishment.

Located on St Pancras Way, the canal side pub has undergone a complete transformation, including the addition of a new rooftop terrace.

A reincarnation of an archetypal great British pub, The Constitution blends original features with contemporary furnishings and pops of colour. The pub is set across three floors spanning a main bar area, first floor terrace and a canal-side bar.

The first floor will also be home to a new 32-cover rooftop terrace overlooking Regent’s Canal, complete with a retractable roof for all-weather dining whilst the enclosed beer garden features new decking and lantern-style lighting.

Head Chef Jay Bond’s menus will focus on seasonal British produce from local suppliers, ranging from bar nibbles and small plates to pies and sharing seafood stews, alongside a vast selection of meatless options. The bar will offer a selection of local craft beers and ales, alongside a curated list of cocktails which will use homegrown herbs and syrups.

Simon Dodd, CEO at Young & Co.’s Brewery P.L.C. commented: “We are delighted to be bringing back The Constitution and re-establishing it within its local community.

“A much-loved landmark on Regent’s Canal, the pub has undergone a huge transformation, but its core values remain the same; The Constitution is a celebration of a proper British pub. General Manager Gen Wood and the team are looking forward to opening the doors and welcoming back guests from near and far.”

Opening in February 2024, The Constitution will be open seven days a week for bookings and walk-ins.
