Vine Schools Trust CEO, Emma Wigmore, Shortlisted for CEO of the Year
The MAT Excellence Awards are all about celebrating excellence and impact in school trusts.
The CEO of an Essex-based Multi Academy Trust (MAT) has been shortlisted for CEO of the Year. Emma Wigmore, CEO of Vine Schools Trust, has been shortlisted alongside seven other CEOs from Trusts across the UK.
Vine Schools Trust, created by the Diocese of Chelmsford, is responsible for 23 Church of England primary, junior and infant schools located throughout Essex and Thurrock.
Emma Wigmore was appointed as the CEO in 2020 after previously being a Headteacher and Executive Headteacher within the Trust.
Emma shared, “I am incredibly proud to be a finalist for the MAT Excellence Awards. This shortlisting is testament to the hard work and determination of our entire Trust family over the past five years.”
Since 2019, Vine Schools Trust has had a complete strategic overhaul after previously facing financial strain and underperforming schools, with 50% of the schools being considered as ‘at risk’.
Today, the total of ‘at risk’ schools in the Trust has reduced to just 8%. Of the 21 Ofsted inspections that have taken place since 2019, 18 of these have received ‘Good’ judgements from inspectors.
