At Innovation SuperNetwork, we recognise that building a strong investment ecosystem in the North East can help us to tackle of the key challenges when it comes to accessing funding.

The region itself carries a high level of innovation, being the 5th largest innovation led cluster in the country. However, we recognise that more opportunities need to be created for businesses and investors to connect, share knowledge and develop new working partnerships. 

Our Pathways to Funding programme brings North East businesses with bright ideas together with the innovation finance. It can be overwhelming to navigate the variety of different routes to finance, so our team works with businesses through events, workshops, and one-to-one support to make them pitch perfect and able to secure investment for growth. 

As part of the programme, we recently worked in collaboration with British Business Bank to bring the ecosystem together for a day long event as part of their Business Finance Week. Using our expert team, we brought together start ups, scaling businesses, investors and support providers to explore how we can work together to leverage equity investment, promote different funding options and help businesses get investor ready.

The event was a great success, with a high number of attendees joining us for the full day of activity. The mix of workshops and networking opportunities brought together businesses and investors in a shared space, facilitating key conversations.

Pathways to Funding is supported by the North of Tyne Combined Authority through its investment fund and delivered in partnership with North East Growth Hub and NEEAL.
