Law firm makes 'milestone' employee model move
A law firm says it has hit an “exciting milestone” after switching to a staff-held structure.
Guest Walker has introduced an employee ownership trust model.
The York-based company says the move will “ensure its future independence”.
Under the new framework, director John Walker and co-directors Sean Gallagher and Louise Elliott remain at the helm, with a newly-formed employee ownership trust board founded to boost staff representation.
Sean said: “The trust will support growth by empowering and recognising staff input at all levels.
“It also allows every employee to have a stake in our success financially, and we hope it brings reassurance for clients that Guest Walker is safeguarded for the future.”
Emma Hartley, a legal executive with the firm and trust board employee representative, added: “This hugely positive step allows our ethos, values and family feel to be secure for the future.
“Employees have always been encouraged to contribute ideas to the business, and this takes it a step further.”
