BGF strengthens deep tech advisory board
Former Innovate UK chief executive Indro Mukerjee has been appointed to BGF’s deep tech and climate advisory board.
Chaired by Baroness Brown of Cambridge, the board was established in 2022 to guide BGF’s investment strategy in transformational technologies.
Indro brings decades of experience in global technology leadership, scale-ups and public sector innovation, having recently stepped down after three years leading Innovate UK.
He joins a senior line-up that includes Juliet Davenport OBE and Laura Sandys CBE, as BGF increases its investment in climate and deep tech ventures across the UK and Ireland.
Indro said: “I’m pleased to be joining BGF’s deep tech and climate advisory board, to help unlock the full potential of deep tech in the UK.
“BGF is one of the strongest investors in this important sector which has great significance for economic growth and societal impact.”
Dennis Atkinson, co-head of early stage investments at BGF, added: “Indro’s appointment further strengthens the breadth and depth of expertise on our advisory board.
“His perspective and experience will be invaluable as we continue to back the most exciting deep tech entrepreneurs, providing them not just with capital but with the insight, networks, and support they need to navigate the unique challenges of scaling breakthrough technologies.”
