Fundin breaks barriers with grant platform
A Leeds-based tech-for-good company is helping small charities thrive.
Grant platform Fundin has unveiled a bold rebrand and new website, backed by a £330,000 pre-seed investment led by impact fund Haatch.
As part of its relaunch, the startup is offering five West Yorkshire charities free access to its AI-powered platform – aimed at making grant funding faster, fairer and more accessible.
Bosses say the offer is open to organisations with an annual turnover under £10,000 and supports Fundin’s mission to reduce inequality in grant access.
Tamzin Burch, Fundin’s marketing manager, said: “Our mission is simple.
“We want to help mission-driven organisations win more grants without burning out.”
An estimated £900 million is lost each year to failed funding applications, with smaller organisations – especially those led by marginalised groups – often missing out due to limited time, training or insider knowledge.
Fundin’s platform streamlines the bid process, connecting users to expert support and smarter search tools in one place.
Founded by Tom Leeming, who built the business from a one-person project into a six-strong team, Fundin is now headquartered above Leeds’ historic Kirkgate Market.
Tom added: “We built Fundin to break down the barriers that keep small charities, CICs and purpose-led businesses locked out of vital funding.
“Offering free access to local charities is our way of investing directly in our community and showing how powerful this tech can be in the right hands.”
