Capstone bolsters leadership with two new directors

Inverness-based Capstone Construction has expanded its senior team with the appointment of Michael Cameron as operations director, supporting the company’s continued growth across Scotland.

Michael will play a central role as the business delivers an increasing pipeline of residential and commercial projects.

He said: “I’m delighted to take on this newly created role, which is not only the next step on my own professional development, but which will see me play a key role as Capstone continues to grow and deliver an increasing portfolio of key housing and commercial projects across the Highlands.

“Since I joined Capstone six years ago the company has enjoyed a period of steady growth and I look forward to working with Rhona and my fellow directors as we continue to grow the company organically – to help meet the needs of the Highland market – and also through exploring the synergies existing with fellow Global group companies operating in the sector.”

Capstone has also appointed Mark Bramley as commercial director, further strengthening its leadership as demand rises across the Highlands.

The privately owned construction firm has grown significantly since its acquisition by Global in 2022, enhancing its reputation for delivering complex industrial, residential and commercial schemes.

Recent projects include care facilities, new housing developments and major community-led schemes across Inverness and Dingwall.

Capstone was also appointed principal contractor for Global’s new multi-million-pound headquarters at Inverness Campus Freeport, scheduled for completion in 2026.

Michael and Mark’s appointments support Capstone’s wider expansion and its continued role in delivering high-quality construction and affordable housing across the region.

Rhona Donnelly, managing director of Cameron, added: “We are delighted to appoint Michael to this newly created senior position of operations director.

“Michael has played a key role in the growth of the company in his six years with us – initially as an experienced estimating manager before going on to become a successful commercial director.

“His appointment as operations director widens his remit and, in this role, will, I’m sure, help see Capstone go from strength to strength as it continues to grow its presence in the residential, industrial and commercial construction sectors.”

Rhona added: “Mark’s appointment will more than fill the considerable void left by Michael Cameron’s promotion.

“Mark brings extensive experience in commercial strategy and fostering long-standing client relationships, underpinned by deep local knowledge and trusted connections across the construction sector.

“His appointment further strengthens Capstone’s leadership team and supports our continued growth, as we deliver on our vision and expand our order book of major projects across the Highlands of Scotland.”
